I am pleased that Dr. Rowland and I share the concern in finding a cure for dyspareunia in patients with vulvody-nia. As you know, very few placebo-controlled studies have investigated the effectiveness of treatments for provoked vulvodynia, and most of the current treatments are empirical. Our article represents an attempt to move from the histopathologic findings to elucidating the pathogenesis of the disease in order to develop a successful treatment.
