Having started my career on a foundation course in Art Design, I went on to do a BA in Information Graphics (Illustration) at Nottingham Trent University. I then took an MA in Communication Design (Artists' Books) at Manchester Metropolitan University, followed, in 1997, by an MA in Art and Design Network: Ceramics at the University of Wolverhampton. Today my studio is a creative cave of chaos: full of clay, materials, equipment and objects. It is set into the walls of Gwyrch Castle, across from the seafront in Abergele, Conwy, North Wales, with hills rising behind. The rawness of the landscape and the age of the house and studio feed this connection to the past, and to the skills and lives of previous artists and makers. In addition to my practice I teach ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. I also exhibit in galleries throughout the UK and Europe, where my pieces have been shown at Gaudi's Casa Batllo in Barcelona and at the Santorini Biennale in Greece. My work sits in the collection at the Santorini Museum and the Aberystwyth Ceramics Collection.
