PILOT PRODUCTION TESTS OF DEACIDIFICATION OF NICKEL-CONTAINING MOTHER LIQUOR

Results are presented from pilot production tests of sorption separation of non-ferrous metals from sulphuric acid in the course of processing the mother liquor at the vitriol shop of the Ural Electrical Copper Joint Stock Association. It is established that application of the technique of sulphuric acid sorption produces a substantial increase in nickel output into commercial nickel vitriol, eliminates the need for a stage of flame evaporation, and reduces operating costs.
