摘要

Stable associates are formed in magnesium-thermic reduction of the mixture TiCl_4-C_2Cl_4 and these associates result in the production of titanium carbide close to stoichiometry in terms of composition. With a decrease in the rate of delivery of the initial mixtures of chlorides and an increase In the synthesis temperature, the content of bound carbon in the titanium carbide produced grows while that of the free carbon falls. The lattice parameter of this form of titanium carbide is approximately equal to that of the standard stoichiometric phase of TIC. Nanopowders of titanium carbide with grain size 40-60 nm are obtained.
