Synthesis and Properties of Barium Dihydrogen 1-Hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonate Dihydrate

摘要

The only compound that crystallizes from aqueous solutions containing 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid (H_4L) and Ba~(2+) in molar ratios from 3:1 to 1:3 is BaH_2L·2H_2O. The product was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. The solubility of the compound in water (2.67 mM at 25 deg C) increases with temperature and with decreasing pH. No double salts N_2~IBa(H_2L)_2·nH_2O crystallize from aqueous solutions.
