摘要

Lonnie Moore figures he was at or near ground zero for seven, maybe eight, hurricanes during his years as engineering manager for two North Carolina electric co-ops."After a while, it gets hard to keep track," jokes Moore, now senior vice president & chief operating officer withTarheel Electric Membership Association, a Raleigh, N.C.-based materials and supply co-op owned by North Carolina's 26 electric co-ops.His experiences at Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative in Newport and Buxton-based Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative, both along the storm-frequented Adantic Coast, made Moore not only a grizzled veteran of natural disasters but, also, an expert on what often comesafterward: dealing with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA.
