摘要

A graduate of Newport University's Documentary Photography course, Charley Murrell has spent the past three years exploring the influence of images upon children's perception of themselves, in her project Child's Play. "Images that surround children's everyday lives, in advertisements and magazines; on television, the internet and other media; toys; and even some food products, have a significant impact on how they view themselves", says Murrell. "Children are overwhelmed with imagery that encourages them to generate unattainable ideals, desires for material possessions, and an unhealthy focus on status.
