The small amplitudes of the oscillations of the spindles of the very-high-precision machine tools in no-load conditions and in cutting (with careful balancing they are 0.02-0.05μm) lead to the need for the design, fabrication, and adjustment of the relative and absolute oscillation sensors, and also the search for new approaches to the study of the amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics (APFCs) of the high-speed spindle with the use of the computer. The existing standard sensors do not satisfy - with regard to the sensitivity and the frequency range - the requirements that are imposed in the experimental studies and the operation of these machines.
