Use of the Lanczos method in probabilistic thermal modeling of metal-cutting machine-tools

We present an algorithm that uses the Lanczos reduction to construct the probabilistic thermal model. The calculation of the derivatives in the probabilistic model is based on the use of interpolation formulas. It is shown that with the use of the Lanczos reduction only two interpolation points are required to obtain adequate accuracy in calculating the derivatives.
