摘要

In bench tests, the use of brittle tensosensitive rosin coatings for defect detection and strength assessment of the weld seam close to T pieces in oil pipelines is considered. The cracking pattern in the brittle coating yields a map of the stress-strain state at the surface of the T piece over the perimeter of the side-pipe weld and permits identification of likely failure zones. The maximum strain due to the working loads in the most stressed zones of the structure may be estimated.
