Composite Throwing

As a ceramic sculptor I turned to the wheel about eight years ago to create a series of objects inspired by everyday things I see around my environment at home and during my travels around the world. Many forms are inspired by objects used by women to prepare food (and these vary greatly depending on what country you are in), architecture, construction hand tools, and small, insignificant, but to me amazing, artefacts that are part of our everyday world. The crown form demonstrated here is inspired from headdresses I have seen in museums, usually on paintings of royalty. So with my love of the crown and what it represents, i.e. respect, honour, and dignity, I decided everyone deserves one!
