Rubber plantations being converted for other uses

Rubber plantations in the Malabar region of Kerala are being converted in a big way for residential and commercial purposes, a trend already noticed in the main rubber growing areas in Central Kerala. Rubber plantations located on the sides of roads are in great demand from real estate developers. Residential villas and commercial buildings are coming up in such locations in places like Raman-kuth in Nilambur village.
