Sibur transfers plant to Pirelli JV

Russia's CJSC Sibur Holding has transferred ownership of a tyre plant in Kirov, Russia, to the joint venture between Pirelli and Russian Technologies, as outlined in agreements entered into by the firms. The Kirov plant has a current production capacity of more than seven million pieces in the car and light truck sectors. The transfer of further assets will bring the JVs production to 11 million pieces by 2014. Pirelli has committed to invest about $135 million in the plant to upgrade the mixing room and finishing area and improve the quality control system.
