International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) expects only a marginal rise of 0.9% in world rubber demand from 28.91 million tonnes to 29.17 million tonnes in 2015, based on International Monetary Fund's April 2015 World Economic Outlook (WEO) forecast data. IRSG however expects the rubber demand to rise by 4.7% to 30.54 million tonnes in 2016. The total NR demand is expected to rise by 1.2% to 12.30 million tonnes in 2015 and by 4.3% to 12.83 million tonnes in 2016. Total SR demand is forecast to rise by 0.7% to 16.87 million tonnes in 2015 and by 5% to 17.71 million tonnes in 2016.
