The future of the natural rubber industry is at stake, at least for the short-term. Though experts are all bullish about the prospects of a demand rise and a consequent high price for NR in the long term, all indications are that the industry is heading for a major crisis unless strong corrective measures are taken immediately. Otherwise, both producers and consumers will have to pay a heavy price for inaction.
