Pressure on stocks persists

Weakening market sentiments, sluggish demand from auto industry, and higher input costs etc. linger on, putting pressure on Indian tyre companies. Extending the past trend, the stocks of tyre companies came down in a broad range of 10% to 50% in the August-September 2011 period as they are yet to find some cushion of corrections in rubber prices and an improvement in demand.
