摘要

Six novel carbazolyl-containing amino alcohol Schiff bases were synthesized by a solvent-free method, and characterized by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, mass, and infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The conditions for synthesis by use of solvent and by this solvent-free method were investigated and optimized. The results showed the solvent-free method is better. The effect of the structure of the amino alcohol on the luminescence properties of the target Schiff bases was investigated. The results showed that 2-[(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-ylmethylene)amino]-3-phenylpropan-1-ol had the best luminescence intensity; it has potential applications as a luminescent material in optics.
