Persistent cone dysfunction in acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopathy.

Acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopa-thy (AEPVM) is a rare disorder first described by Gass et al. Symptoms of AEPVM include sudden onset of vision loss after headache. Visual acuity usually recovers with or without systemic corticosteroid treatment. To our knowledge, 7 cases have been reported, and all patients were 20 years of age or older. We describe the first case of AEPVM in a teenager and the first use of multifocal electroretinogram (rnfERG) to follow the resolution of this disorder.
