Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) need to provide good adhesion upon application of contact pressure and short contact time. In recent years there has been growing concern regarding the flame retardancy of PSAs, particularly in automotive and aerospace applications. A number of flame retardants have toxicity and environmental drawbacks (especially those materials containing bromine).
