The Defra announcement of a bigger future focus on commercial and industrial waste has to be good news for all those involved in the waste management sector.Such large volumes of material are involved that measures definitely need to be taken to ensure that recycling and beneficial treatment routes are optimised, especially as there is a view among some that the pretreatment rules are not always being met even if the waste sector itself tries to enforce this.
