Synthesis of fluorinated/methacryiated epoxy-based oligomers and investigation of its performance in the UV curable hybrid coatings

Polycarbonate is a tough, dimensionally stable and transparent plastic, used in a wide range of applications including the construction, engineering and electronics fields. In spite of a number of valuable properties, it is known to have relatively low hardness, scratch and UV resistance. This paper looks at the use of hybrid coatings, containing fluorine and silicon-bearing materials, as a means of improving these properties.
