NEW EXPLORER CRANKS UP IN BURKINA FASO

NEWCOMER MIDDLE Island Resources is holding firm to its fast track strategy to identify a minimum stand-alone 1.2 million ounce gold resource on its west African assets by the end of next year. The company listed in December last year and is already reaping excellent rewards from its own exploration, led by a couple of west African specialists and a leg up from major shareholder Newmont Mining, from which the company acquired its key asset. Middle Island has the rights to three projects, variously comprising six granted exploration permits and four exploration permit applications covering an aggregate 2600 square kilometres in Burkina Faso and neighbouring Niger.
