摘要

Recent advances in medical imaging technologies have enabled better visualization and assessment of bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and implants, and thus have emerging applications in orthopedics field. One of such emerging technologies is the O-arm intraoperative imaging system. O-arm system combines the traditional fluoroscopy with a flexible o-arm design, which enables simple and fast access to real-time, multiple-plane 3-D images during surgical procedures. With such flexibility and potentially improved image quality than the fluoroscopic equipment, it allows surgeons to complete complex and minimally invasive procedures while eliminating revision surgeries.
