Latest step for Australia's e-waste recycling

An electronics industry lobby that campaigned for national e-waste recycling and product stewardship legislation in Australia is now set to become an operational entity for recycling televisions and computers. Formed in 2004 by television and computer manufacturers, Product Stewardship Australia (PSA) urged the government to create a national scheme for the handling of e-waste. After a seven-year fight, the government passed legislation for a national television and computer recycling initiative in June this year, with a fully-fledged scheme set to be phased in from 2012.
