ArcelorMittal to expand presence in Iraq

The world's largest steelmaker ArcelorMittal confirms that it is to partner Turkish company Dayen in building a steel mini-mill with electric arc furnace in Sulaimaniyah in Iraq's Kurdish-administered region.The mill, which will source scrap locally for use in the production of rebar, requires an investment outlay of USS 100-130 million split between the two joint-venture partners.
