Familiar with the scrap yard environment since his early school days, Robert Stein has gone on to become Vice President of Non Ferrous Marketing at Alter Trading of St Louis, USA. He is also a leading figure within the BIR world recycling body, currently serving as President of its Non-Ferrous Metals Division. This journey has taught him many things, not least that the industry must not ignore the lessons handed down by the current economic and trading downturn.
