Reforming Science

摘要

It is time for a frank discussion about reforming science-an enterprise that needs to be healthy for society to confront its most serious challenges of the 21st century. Despite many successes, science f?nds itself under external threats from antiscientif?c attitudes, public skepticism, inadequate funding, and increased regulation, as well as from internal threats including dissatisfaction of scientists with the business of science and the corrosive impact of research errors and misconduct, as reflected by the recent dramatic rise in retracted publications.
