Greek LPG shipping firm StealthGas returned to profit for the fourth quarter, buoyed by strength in the small gas carrier market. The company reported fourth-quarter net income at $4.3mn, compared with a loss of $27.2mn for the same time last year. This brought net profits for the whole year up to $11.1mn, up from a net loss of $13.3mn in 2009. Chief executive Harry Vafias says the improvement was underpinned by the arrangement of new long-term charters and increased revenues from the vessels trading in the spot market.
