It's an elaborate sleight of hand, organising scenery and backdrops in amateur theatres. They have to be moved around for each scene, and re-arranged, making sure that every last member of the audience is unable to see between them, a process that takes stage technicians a considerable amount of time before the event to get right - usually on a trial and error basis, placing one piece at a time and checking and masking as they build the set.
