An experimental study is performed of the type-II optical second harmonic generation by a laser pulse whose direction of polarization experiences time variations. These ones are shown to result in considerable transform at ions of the harmonic pulse. Under some conditions, the harmonic pulse shortening is observed comparing the case of a pump fundamental pulse with fixed polarization. [References: 10]
