After more than five years, and after parent company Daimler AG spent USD1.5 billion to develop a new heavy-duty engine platform, Detroit Diesel Corp. (Redford, MI) has introduced the DD15 diesel engine to US trucking fleets. The six-cylinder, 14.8-L DD15 engine features technology which optimizes fuel efficiency and produces greater output power, while reducing harmful emissions.
