National Centre for Precision Farming: Harper Adams to become a hub for smart technology expertise

ON the world stage, the terminology has been in existence for nearly 25 years. But as a practical farming method, precision agriculture has been relatively slow to catch on in the UK, despite Britain leading much of the early technological development. The February launch of the National Centre for Precision Farming aims to change that. Based at Harper Adams University College, in Shropshire, the centre will provide a bridge between the theory and practice of agricultural techniques that many believe are vital if sufficient production of the world's food is to be sustained.
