Mexico's energy ministry has ruled out the deregulation of the domestic LPG market after the country's energy regulator called for unrestricted LPG imports and private investment. "The energy ministry opposes LPG prices being freed at this time, as conditions do not exist allowing us to face up to such a decision, as it would hurt the economy of Mexican citizens," the ministry said on 27 October. "The ministry considers it unviable to speak of freeing up the price of LPG, without first having studied the advantages and disadvantages that such a decision would imply."
