YPF pickings get slimmer

Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and his family have reduced their stake in Argentina’s state-controlled oil company YPF to 5.6pc from 8.4pc, according to a filing issued by YPF on 17 February to US securities regulator the SEC. Slim, along with several members of his family and two companies they control, sold some 10mn shares in the company last year, reducing their holdings in class-D shares of the Argentinian firm to 22.07mn, down from the 32.91mn they obtained in June 2012.
