摘要

The structure of the magnetic dipole bands is studied by means of shell-model calculations. The calculations correlate with the data, showing a transition from irregular sequences in the light isotopes to regular bands in the heavy ones. The analysis of the wave functions reveals a more complex mechanism of angular momentum generation than in the Pb isotopes: the shears mechanism of the intruder orbitals and the normal parity neutrons make comparable contributions.
