Bacterial ring-rot. Current situation, measures and possible effects.

The symptoms of infection of potatoes with Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus are illustrated in colour, and the incidence and injuriousness of the disease caused to potatoes in Germany in 1997--2000 are recorded. Possible control measures are discussed in relation to the prospects for improving the situation.
