A comparison of potato diggers: results of a harvesting machine test in France

Results are presented of a comparison among 11 potato diggers used for consumption potatoes (cv. Bintje) and 8 diggers for starch potatoes (cv. Kaptah Vandel). The test was carried out on loamy soil in Villers Saint Christophe on 14 September 2001.Technical machinery data are tabulated, as well as information on yield losses, foliage removal, dirt tare, and tuber damage (at harvest and after 10 days).
