In 2012, an operator in southwestern Saskatchewan realized that the stimulation program performed in their horizontal well several years ago had left significant reserves behind. The decision was made to re-frac the well, but the operator was concerned about costs. The operator turned to STEP Energy Services for a solution. "Normally, the preparation wqrk for re-entry and stimulation would require a full crew and several support units," says Steve Glanville, COO of STEP. "But we had a different idea; what if we could build a module that could do the same job, reduce the complexity of the operation and eliminate some of the equipment and crews required on lease?"
