A Solitary Fibrous Tumor of the Meninges With Ectopic Salivary Gland Tissue: Case Report and Literature Review

The patient described in this case report developed a solitary fibrous tumor of the meninges that was associated with ectopic salivary tissue-a unique tumor believed to be a recurrence of a tumor resected more than 2 decades prior. Extrapleural solitary fibrous tumors are uncommon, particularly tumors that occur in the meninges. A literature search found only 30 reported cases. Intracra-nial tumors of the cerebellopontine angle associated with ectopic salivary tissue are extremely rare, with perhaps only 1 other case reported in the literature.
