Hold them horses: Turn down the rumble of this impala SS's engine to be pleasantly surprised by its A/V system

Installer Sean "Crackle" Young pretty much sums up this Impala SS in his response to our question about what damping materials he used: "Yeah, right! You can barely hear the stereo over the motor!" Considering the quality Sound Decision install by Young, Brian Mobley and Mike Piante, that must be one heck of an engine. In fact, the horses crammed under the hood of Jim Baldino's Impala would fill more than a few stables (or one mega stable with about 1,000 stalls). With something so imposing up front and several prizes won at shows, you'd think Baldino would be satisfied with leaving the rest of the car untouched. But what would be the fun of that? When one of his older children suggested doing up an A/V system to be proud of, Baldino turned to the guys at Sound Decision, who had already proved their worth with previous installs for him. With the directive of no chrome in the interior ("Chrome is reserved for the motor or the trunk I don't want chrome in my living room," Baldino states), the crew at Sound Decision went to work following an understated theme of black and gray.
