The biggest investment in training for the scientists and engineers of the future has been set in motion by one of the United Kingdom's premier funding bodies for research.The 250 million pounds initiative - by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) - will create 40 training centres across the UK and generate more than 2000 doctoral (PhD) students.
