The Fourth International Conference on Mechanochemistry and Mechanical Alloying

Fourth International Conference on Mechanochemistry and Mechanical Alloying (INCOME 2003) was held from 7-11 September 2003 in the historical city of Braunschweig, Germany. The conference was hosted by the Technical University of Braunschweig and supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the State of Lower Saxony, and by the Braunschweigische Hochschulbund. Chairmen of the conference were Prof. K.D. Becker of the Technical University, Braunschweig and V. Sepelak of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Figure 1. Almost 300 participants (Figure 2) registered for the conference with a total of 279 abstracts submitted ; 103 were scheduled for oral presentations and the remaining 176 for poster presentation. These contributions were submitted by scientists from 40 countries throughout the world; thus, the conference represented a state-of-the-art overview of the world-wide activities in mechanochemistry and mechanical alloying. The oral category includes seven invited plenary lectures and 27 invited keynote lectures.
