摘要

The influence of carbon on the mechanical properties of nickel has been extensively studied (1,2,3,4). Nakadah and Keh(4) showed that the strain rate sensitivity (SRS) of nickel is significantly influenced by carbon content, and that a pro¬nounced SRS nwyfmum develops below room temperature. The am¬plitude of the maximum in nickel-carbon alloys was strongly dependent on the amount of carbon present.nBlakemore (5) did a detailed study of the Portevin-Le Chateller (P-L) effect in nickel-copper-carbon alloys. He found the effect to be caused by carbon in the system, and that its nature varied with copper level. Blakemore's Inves¬tigation, however, did not include consideration of SRS para¬meters. Therefore, the purpose of the present work was to systematically study the composition dependence of SRS behavior in the nickel-copper-carbon system, with particular emphasis n the Influence of copper.
