In the first weeks after stroke a subluxation of the shoulder of the paretic arm is most frequently. The shoulder subluxation is often painful; therefore, the time of rest increases while the amount of therapy decreases. Functional training in this phase is limited or not possible. Usually a shoulder brace is supplied to fixate the shoulder, whose handling is not easy to perform. This observational study investigated the effect of functionally Kinesiotape on the reduction of shoulder pain to force functional training.
