摘要

Futures traders and hedge fund managers, who've made long careers of trading the gas market, are fleeing the commodity for more lucrative opportunities in oil, precious metals and agricultural commodities. "For a decade natural gas futures ruled the roost in terms of robust volatility, liquidity and all the other dynamics needed to make it one of the most highly traded commodities in the entire futures market," said a trader for a hedge fund in Texas. "But, there's far more profitable commodities to trade out there with larger reward potential, so we're seeing a lot of talent leaving the gas field for greener pastures."
