Legislators Urge Fere to Support Oregon's Jordan Cove LNG Project

The Jordan Cove LNG export project has picked up some support from a handful of US federal legislators. The greenfield project is being developed for a site in Coos Bay, Oregon by Calgary-based Veresen and is expected to export up to six million tons per year, or about 800 million cubic feet per day, to Asian markets. In a letter to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Fere), five US senators and nine members of the House of Representatives, all Republicans and all representing gas-producing western US states, urged Fere to complete the project's final environmental impact statement as soon as possible.
