Shift Seen in Gas Fundamentals As Numerous Projects Start Up

Between the start of this year and the middle of next year, the scheduled completion of 40 major natural gas infrastructure projects in the US Southeast/Gulf region will cause a big shift in North American natural gas market fundamentals, research and consulting firm Bentek Energy says in a new report. Bentek says the 25 natural gas pipeline projects, four LNG terminals and 11 gas storage faculties coming on line could deliver billions of cubic feet of new gas supplies to the Perryville and Henry hubs in Louisiana. This could poten- tially disrupt regional pricing relationships and realign transportation capacity.
