The switching device (1) has a shift gate (3) and a shift finger (4) cooperating with it. One of the gate projections (12) is arranged in a ramp (15) projecting in a selector gate (5) in the area of the end (14) facing the selector gate. An upper surface of the ramp drops from the gate projections to the selector gate. The shift finger is supported perpendicular to the sliding grooves (13).
