Beer trucks generally travel fixed routes as part of return-to-base fleets -ideal for present-day natural gas-powered transportation. "The infrastructure problem does not exist for them," said Eric Criss, president of Beer Industry of Florida, an advocate for Florida's beer distributors. As it happens, Criss also serves as chairman of the Florida Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition (FNGVC), which was launched in August and includes several gas utilities, beer distributors, truck makers and CNG station builders. The coalition last month added United Parcel Service, the United States Sugar Corp. and ubiquitous NGV player California-based Clean Energy.
