One of the major -and unanswered - questions facing the natural gas industry is whether US gas production has seen a sharp decline, and if not, why not. It would stand to reason that natural gas output would fall like a stone once rig counts bottomed out around 675 in late July, from 1,555 just a year earlier. And some gas bulls are holding to that even if Energy Information Administration data doesn't. And the bulls have some ammunition to back their claims.
